This special screening is presented by the Downtown Alliance , The Battery Conservancy and Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC). Starring Gene Kelly , Frank Sinatra , and Jules Munshin , On the Town follows three sailors on a whirlwind 24-hour shore leave in New York City. Filled with iconic locations, memorable songs, dazzling choreography, and plenty of romance, the film remains one of Hollywood’s greatest love letters to New York. As New York Harbor comes alive this summer with America250 commemorations, visiting ships, and waterfront celebrations, On the Town offers the perfect cinematic companion—capturing the city's enduring spirit of adventure, possibility, and joy. The evening will include special surprises, giveaways, and a live musical tribute inspired by the film. Bring a blanket, gather your friends and family, and enjoy a magical summer evening under the stars. Admission is free; registration is encouraged. This screening is part of Big Screen at The Battery , a free summer series of outdoor movies, World Cup watch parties, and special events on New York Harbor, presented by The Battery Conservancy and the Battery Park City Authority.
