The Jazz Foundation of America presents two evenings of live waterfront music featuring renowned bandleaders playing a variety of jazz and Latin styles. Ronnie Burrage & Holographic Principle: St Louis-born Drummer, percussionist, keyboardist, composer, arranger, band leader and educator Ronnie Burrage has a style drawn most notably from the musical genres of “jazz”, “funk” and “soul”. A founding member of Joseph Bowie’s Defunkt, he worked with greats like Sonny Fortune, McCoy Tyner, Sonny Rollins, and Jackie McLean before starting his own groups, which have featured Kenny Kirkland, Marcus Miller, Wallace Roney and Wynton and Branford Marsalis. His current group, Holographic Principle, features his own compositions and imaginatively reworked standards.
