The summer solstice — the day with the longest period of daylight — is significant as a marker of summer for many cultures around the world. We are excited to celebrate the summer solstice by getting outside with our friends, neighbors, and community members. The time to do so in Inwood Hill Park, when everything is bright and green and growing, is limited; before long, we will be pulling out winter sweaters. We hope that all friends of the park can join us in enjoying this special day. Please bring water, long-sleeved clothing that can get dirty, and sturdy, comfortable shoes. All other supplies will be provided. Children under 13 are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
